| Spirit Trail |
Site: Spirit Trail will eventually
connect Deep Cove to Horseshoe Bay along the
North Shore with a waterfront oriented pedestrian and cycling
trail. space2place is responsible for planning the 6.5km portion
of the trail that spans the City of North Vancouver. Problem Statement: To create a multi-use trail that is accessible for pedestrians, cyclists, inline skaters, and people with wheeled mobiliy aides. The trail is to be off street and waterfront oriented where possible. Design Solution: The interdisciplinary team includes landscape architects, biologists, and engineers who are working together to create a multi-use trail and greenway. space2place is undertaking a collaborative planning and design approach for the trail that includes workshops with the public and City staff. Route alignment, design character, scope, and budget for completing the trail will all be determined through this process. |
