Landscape Architecture by its nature is a “green” profession. Where many professionals attempt to “mimic” nature, our goal is to illustrate that environmentally sustainable design can also be innovative design excellence. We believe that the following sustainability principles are important for the environment and they lay the foundations for good design:
Respect the site. Every site, natural or man-made, is unique and connected to natural process and activities. These processes and activities impose limitations, but also offer opportunities. We evaluate each site to identify its essential character to guide us through the rest of the process.
Celebrate natural patterns and processes. We look to expose the latent potential in each site and interpret natural processes.
Use local materials. Where possible we use local materials which support local economies, and enhance the regional character of the project.
